Wulong · Journey to Earth's Core
Chongqing → Wulong Three Natural Bridges → Fairy Mountain. The Three Natural Bridges were a filming location for Transformers 4 — three massive natural stone arches spanning the canyon, with people looking like ants beneath them. Fairy Mountain at 20°C in summer — a natural air conditioner + alpine grasslands.

Miao Village · Wujiang Gallery
Wulong → Chiyou Jiuli City → Wujiang Gallery boat cruise → Return to Chongqing. Jiuli City is China's largest Miao architectural complex — the 99-meter Chiyou Grand Hall. The Wujiang Gallery boat ride through canyon gorges rivals the Three Gorges in grandeur.

The Sichuan-Qinghai Railway opened in 2024 — Chengdu to Huanglong-Jiuzhai Station in 2 hours. You're eating wontons in Chengdu in the morning and standing at Huanglong's Five-Color Pool by noon. The 6 hours saved = one extra attraction (Huanglong). Why don't competitors use high-speed rail? Because buses are cheaper — but they won't tell you how many times passengers vomited along the way.
Why Chengdu + Chongqing combo instead of just one city?
Flying to China from overseas isn't cheap. Just Chengdu or just Chongqing — you'd have to fly another 4–5 hours next time. We cover two cities in one trip: Chengdu's laid-back charm + Chongqing's surreal magic, just 1.5 hours apart by high-speed rail. Completely different vibes but equally spectacular, no repetition. Is one full day enough for Jiuzhaigou? Why not stay an extra night?
Yes, it's enough. Jiuzhaigou's three valleys form a Y-shape, all connected by sightseeing buses. A full day from 8am to 5pm comfortably covers every highlight. An extra night means an extra day's cost — and Jiuzhaigou tickets are single-day valid; you'd need to buy another ticket for day two. We enter first thing in the morning, avoid crowds, catch the best light, and take the evening high-speed rail back to Chengdu — efficient, no waste.
Is Wulong worth it?
Absolutely. The Three Natural Bridges are a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for Transformers 4 and Curse of the Golden Flower — the sheer scale of these three natural stone arches can't be captured in photos. Fairy Mountain is 20°C in summer — when Chongqing is baking at 40°C, you're on an alpine meadow feeling the breeze. That contrast is the experience itself. Competitors rush Wulong as a frantic day trip — we stay overnight, no rushing.

About This Route
Is altitude sickness a problem at Jiuzhaigou?
Jiuzhaigou scenic area sits at 2,000–3,100m — the vast majority of people have no issues. Huanglong's highest point is ~3,900m — mild reactions possible. Your concierge carries oxygen and glucose. If concerned, skip Huanglong and just enjoy Jiuzhaigou — the entire valley has sightseeing buses, minimal walking. Coming from sea-level Singapore, most people are totally fine.
When is the best season?
Mid-to-late October: Jiuzhaigou's autumn colors are legendary — the red and yellow leaf reflections on Five-Flower Lake are unbeatable. April–May: abundant water, spectacular waterfalls. July–August: escape the heat (Jiuzhaigou stays around 20°C), though Chengdu and Chongqing are hotter. Early November: late autumn is still beautiful. Winter (Dec–Mar): snow-covered landscapes at Jiuzhaigou are stunning in their own way, though some walkways may close.
Is Chongqing too hot in summer?
July–August is genuinely hot (35–40°C), but the itinerary is thoughtfully paced. Outdoor activities in the morning and evening, hotel rest or indoor attractions in the afternoon. Wulong Fairy Mountain at 1,900m is 20°C in summer — nature's central air conditioning. And coming from Singapore, you have natural resistance to heat — Chongqing's dry heat actually feels more comfortable than Singapore's humidity.
Can we visit both Sanxingdui and the Panda Base?
The default itinerary picks one. The two sites are in different directions from Chengdu — covering both in one day is too rushed. If you want both — contact your concierge in advance to adjust: Panda Base on D3 morning, Sanxingdui on D4 morning. This adds half a day and corresponding costs, but your concierge will calculate everything clearly for you.
Are there restrictions for foreign passport holders in Sichuan/Chongqing?
No restrictions whatsoever. Many passport holders enjoy 15–30 day visa-free entry to China. Sichuan and Chongqing are fully open to all foreign visitors — Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong have no foreign guest restrictions. Foreign-guest hotels must have涉外 certification — we verify this in advance.
Are meals included? Is Sichuan food too spicy?
Breakfast included. Lunch and dinner not included — Sichuan-Chongqing is a culinary paradise, and your concierge recommends local-favorite restaurants (not kickback joints). Worried about spice? Sichuan cuisine isn't just麻辣 — there's kaishui baicai (master stock cabbage), tian shaobai (sweet steamed pork), and yeba (glutinous rice cakes), all non-spicy. Hotpot can be ordered as yuanyang (half spicy, half mild) — the mild side is completely safe. Chongqing xiaomian can be ordered "mild spicy." Average SGD 8–15 per day eats very well.
