Itinerary

Day-by-Day Plan

Nanchang entry/exit. Gradual altitude progression — Wangxian Valley (low) → Mount Sanqing (mid) → Mount Lu (high). We don't reverse the order.

DAY 1
Arrive in Nanchang
Airport/train station pickup → check-in. Nanchang is the "City of Heroes" and home to Tengwang Pavilion — immortalized in the verse "Falling clouds and solitary egrets fly together." Your travel consultant walks you through the entire itinerary — every day, every stop, every hotel, confirmed one by one.
DAY 2
Wangxian Valley · Cliffside Wonderland
Nanchang → Wangxian Valley — a fantasy world built on sheer cliffs. By day: cliffside boardwalks, plunging waterfalls, and ancient villages. At dusk, when the lanterns light up — the entire valley transforms into a scene from an animated film. Wangxian Valley's night scenery is one of a kind in China. (Overnight near Wangxian Valley)
DAY 3
Mount Sanqing · Peaks & Sea of Clouds
Mount Sanqing — a UNESCO World Heritage site. "After seeing Sanqing, no other mountain scenery compares." Cable car up → West Coast Boardwalk — a suspended flat path with the sea of clouds beneath your feet. Giant Python Rising, Goddess of Spring — surreal granite peak formations. For the fit: add the Sunshine Coast trail — Sanqing's boardwalks are the most spectacular in all of China.
DAY 4
Huangling · Sun-Drying Harvest & Moon Bay
Mount Sanqing → Huangling — an ancient village perched on cliffs, birthplace of the sun-drying harvest tradition. Chili peppers, corn, and pumpkins spread across rooftop drying racks — a riot of color blanketing the entire village. Leixin Bridge — a glass walkway suspended between two mountains. Afternoon: Moon Bay — Wuyuan's iconic scene, a crescent of jade-green water winding through fields. → Jingdezhen. (Overnight Jingdezhen)
DAY 5
Jingdezhen · A Day in Porcelain Capital
Huangyao — watch handmade ceramics come to life, from wheel-throwing to glazing. Sculpture Porcelain Factory — where locals hunt for ceramics, fair prices. Your travel consultant teaches you to tell hand-painting from decals — hand-painted strokes vary in pressure, decal lines are uniform and flat. Afternoon: Shizhong Mountain — the actual site of Su Shi's "Record of Stone Bell Mountain." → Jiujiang. (Overnight Jiujiang)
DAY 6
Mount Lu · Waterfalls & Republican Era
Mount Lu — "The waterfall plunges three thousand feet, as if the Milky Way fell from heaven." Hanpo Pass overlooks Poyang Lake, Sandie Spring Waterfall, the Flower Path, Meilu Villa — Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling's summer residence. Mount Lu is not just a mountain — it's a microcosm of modern Chinese history. (Overnight Mount Lu)
DAY 7
Descend · Departure
Descend Mount Lu → Nanchang airport drop-off. Your travel consultant confirms your next flight time and sees you to the security gate.

Why This Route

Itinerary Design Logic

Not random attractions strung together — every pacing decision has a reason.

Why Wangxian Valley first, then Mount Sanqing?
Gradual altitude progression. Wangxian Valley ~400m, Mount Sanqing core area ~1,500m, Mount Lu ~1,200m. Low to high — your body adapts naturally, avoiding discomfort from jumping straight to Sanqing. Reversing the order (Mount Lu→Sanqing→Wangxian Valley) means starting above 1,500m on day one — unfriendly for Singaporean guests.
Is Huangling worth a dedicated trip?
Huangling is not "just another ancient village" — it's a unique, cliff-perched sun-drying harvest spectacle. Five-hundred-year-old Hui-style architecture clings to hundred-meter cliffs, and in autumn, rooftop drying racks burst with color. Nowhere else on earth looks like this. Competitors treat it as a quick 2-hour Wuyuan stop — we give you a full morning. It's worth it.
Jingdezhen isn't just about buying ceramics — what's the experience?
At Huangyao, watch a master throw clay — a lump of earth becomes a bowl in three minutes. The Sculpture Porcelain Factory isn't just for shopping — you'll see young ceramic artists' studios, maybe catch them firing a kiln. Your travel consultant teaches you to distinguish hand-painting from decals — a skill you'll use in any ceramics shop back home.
Is one full day on Mount Lu enough?
One day covers the essentials. Hanpo Pass overlooks Poyang Lake, Sandie Spring delivers the waterfall, and Meilu Villa tells the history — these three are Mount Lu's soul. If you want deep hiking (Five Old Men Peaks, Brocade Valley), add an extra day. Your travel consultant can adjust to your interests — staying overnight on Mount Lu means you can squeeze in another section the next morning.
Jiangxi Pitfalls

What You'll Face with Competitors

Every item below comes from real Xiaohongshu feedback. More likes = more people burned.

"Huangling cable car + admission forced bundle at ¥170 — 'highway robbery,' can't even enter without the cable car"
→ How we handle it
Costs disclosed upfront, all-inclusive — Huangling admission + cable car are already in your trip price. You won't need to pay a single yuan extra at the gate. No "cable car is an additional fee" surprise at the entrance.
"Stomach issues are common in Wuyuan and Jingdezhen — recommend bringing loperamide + levofloxacin"
→ How we handle it
Licensed restaurants guarantee food safety — not roadside stalls, not farmhouse kitchens. Your travel consultant selects restaurants that locals eat at daily — fixed premises with health permits. Overseas Chinese have sensitive stomachs — we care more about this than you do.
"Gexian Village网红 swing had loose bolts → tourist fell and broke bones → no one took responsibility"
→ How we handle it
We don't arrange risky attractions.网红 swings, cliff glass swing projects — photogenic but unsafe. We stick to regular viewing platforms and standard boardwalks. Your travel consultant proactively points out activities that "look fun but aren't safe."
"Mount Lu unlicensed cabs brazenly solicit right in front of the police station — couldn't even get a legitimate taxi"
→ How we handle it
Our own driver-guide handles all transport — from the foot of the mountain to the summit to every scenic spot. You never need to find your own ride. The car goes up, the car comes down, the car takes you to Hanpo Pass — no unlicensed cab gets anywhere near you.

"The moment Wangxian Valley's lanterns lit up, all four of us gasped 'wow' simultaneously — photos capture maybe one-tenth of it. Bought a hand-painted tea set in Jingdezhen to take back to KL — the travel consultant helped us negotiate the price and taught us how to pack it for luggage. Walking Mount Sanqing's boardwalk, we literally walked into the clouds — Jiangxi is a seriously underrated destination."

FAQ

About This Route

Is Mount Sanqing tiring? How does it compare to Mount Lu?
Mount Sanqing has a cable car straight to the core scenic area. After the cable car you walk on boardwalks — mostly suspended flat paths with minimal climbing. Mount Lu requires stairs and slopes, so overall it's more demanding. But both mountains have cable cars — no hard climbing required. Your travel consultant gives personalized advice based on each person's fitness level.
Do you have to visit Huangling in autumn for the sun-drying harvest?
Autumn (Sep–Nov) is the classic season — chili peppers turn red, persimmons glow gold, and drying racks fill every rooftop. But Huangling is worth visiting year-round: spring rapeseed flower terraces (Mar–Apr), summer green terraces + misty clouds, and winter's sun-drying harvest against snowfall is even more magical. Plenty to see even outside autumn.
How do I avoid getting ripped off buying ceramics in Jingdezhen?
The Sculpture Porcelain Factory is where locals shop — fair prices, and you can haggle. The difference between hand-painting and decals: hand-painted strokes have varying pressure and ink bleed marks; decal lines are uniform, flat, and perfectly edged. Your travel consultant teaches you on the spot. Huangyao sells genuinely handmade pieces — expensive but worth every yuan.
Is Jiangxi cuisine too spicy? Can overseas Chinese handle it?
Jiangxi food is on the spicy side — unlike Sichuan's numbing spice, Jiangxi uses fresh-chili heat (fresh chilies, not dried). Your travel consultant notifies restaurants in advance to reduce or eliminate spice. Nanchang clay-pot soup, Jingdezhen alkaline rice cakes, Mount Lu stone chicken — classic dishes that aren't spicy. If it still doesn't work, we'll switch restaurants anytime.
Where do I stay near Wangxian Valley? Are conditions decent?
Options near Wangxian Valley are limited — we pick the closest, highest-rated accommodation. It won't match a city 4-diamond for luxury, but it's clean and comfortable. The key is location — a few minutes' walk back to your room after the night scenery, no need for another hour in the car. The next morning you can catch another glimpse of the valley in morning mist.
Any extra formalities for overseas Chinese visiting Jiangxi?
None. Many passport holders enjoy 15–30 days visa-free entry to China. Jiangxi has no additional restrictions. Foreign-guest hotels need international reception qualifications — we verify in advance, you don't need to worry.
