Longkan Wharf → Panxi S-Bend → Xizhou Old Town (Bai tie-dye experience). The West Line combines fields, old towns, and Erhai Lake in one picture-perfect itinerary — sunrise at Longkan Wharf, Bai village reflections at Panxi S-Bend, rice paddies and corner tower at Xizhou. Is the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain glacier cable car guaranteed?
The glacier cable car is limited to 10,000 tickets per day — tight in peak season. We pre-reserve tickets with a 95%+ success rate. In the rare event we can't get them (extreme weather/maintenance), your travel consultant will notify you before departure and offer an alternative: Spruce Meadow cable car + Blue Moon Valley deep tour, with the price difference refunded. You won’t arrive at the base of the mountain only to be told you can’t go up.
Is Shangri-La's altitude suitable for elderly and children?
Shangri-La city sits at 3,300m — it does require acclimatization. But we stay two nights in Lijiang (2,400m) as a buffer — the vast majority adapt naturally with no issues. Pudacuo has boardwalks and shuttle buses, Songzanlin Monastery doesn't have many steps. The guide-driver carries oxygen and glucose onboard, and the travel consultant monitors online. If someone truly can't adapt — they can stay an extra day in Lijiang and skip Shangri-La; your travel consultant can adjust the itinerary accordingly.
